We are graduating seniors from the Spring 2023 class working on our Senior Project in Environmental Justice Journalism (JOUR498) at California State University, Northridge.

The purpose of the project is to analyze environmental problems in the Salton Sea area and gather research to better understand California and the federal government's environmental negligence towards what was once a popular site for celebrities in the 1950s.

We explore what has happened in the Salton Sea over the decades and how the nearby communities are being affected. It is presumed that, if nothing is done, the sea will affect the entire state of California, as it has already been affecting the Los Angeles County with air pollution.
